The Beauty Clinic is a specialist IPL skin treatment centre. Our highly trained and experienced skin Specialists use the Energist VPL system - a treatment that is regulated by the Healthcare Commission to ensure that our customers receive safe best practice and focused care.

What is IPL?
IPL is a revolutionary new technique pioneered by Energist for permanent hair reduction and all aspects of skin rejuvenation. Using short pulses of light energy, which can vary in number, length and frequency, the IPL system emits light across a range of wavelengths, allowing a greater range of more gentle treatments to be performed on virtually all hair and skin types.

The safe and effective technology helps to remove and improve the effects that age, hormonal activity, and over-exposure to the sun can have on the skin. Using short, safe controlled pulses of filtered light to help remove unwanted hair and skin imperfections, and to improve texture and tone, IPL leaves skin clearer and smoother.

You will receive a full consultation prior to treatment with a fully trained and experienced therapist who will assess your suitability for the treatment and answer any questions you may have

Your therapist will advise you on the best course of treatment; this will depend on your skin type, the area to be treated and the colour of your hair, and various other factors. You must disclose any medication you are taking as it can effect your response to treatment.

After the consultation your therapist will perform a patch test on your skin in the treatment area. The cost for the consultation and patch test is £20 and takes approximately 45 minutes. The cost of the consultation is redeemable against your first treatment.

The Treatment
The hair in the treatment area will be trimmed and a light conducting cooling gel applied. The IPL applicator will be placed on your skin and flashed in a series of shots to treat the area.

Immediately after the treatment your skin may appear a little more pink than usual but this will fade quickly. The hairs treated will fall out naturally over a period of one to three weeks, leaving your skin feeling smooth.

A course of treatments will be necessary to achieve optimal results due to the natural growth cycles.
