Laser hair removal
Lights out for unwanted hair
Laser hair removal technology is evolving. No matter what skin type you have, newer lasers can safely and effectively remove unwanted hair from your face and body.
Don't put up with pain
Our patients comfort is essential, which is why we go to extra lengths to ensure a pleasurable experience. Some people find laser hair removal uncomfortable so we use a number of different methods to reduce this including special prescription only anaesthetic cream, cooling packs and cooling rollers. With these extra methods we have rendered this a virtually painless procedure.
Benefits of laser hair removal
If you're tired of shaving, waxing or plucking body hair only to have it return days later, or suffer from ingrown hairs, you may be interested in laser hair removal.
Laser hair removal systems use laser light - an intense, pulsating beam of light - to remove unwanted hair. Whether it's on your face, arms, legs or other areas, laser hair removal is the perfect an option if you seek long-term results.
Intense Pulsed Light
Intense Pulsed Light is the best available treatment for permanent hair reduction - and whilst the majority of clients are seeking silky-smooth legs and bikini areas, there are many others - both male and female - who suffer from unwanted hair growth in other areas, such as on the face, back and stomach who can really benefit from this non-invasive laser procedure.
Why choose us?
We offer you a treatment using the most advanced laser system for hair removal available, there are obvious benefits to coming to us for hair removal, the treatments are:
Permanent: Concentrated pulses of light loosen the hair and disable the cells responsible for new hair growth.
Fast: small areas such as the underarm or upper lip can be treated in 10 minutes or less, and even large areas, like the back of the legs, can be treated in less than 20 minutes.
Comfortable: various cooling methods keep the light pulses mild and skin-safe, allowing for more comfortable treatments than electrolysis and waxing. As we are a Doctor led clinic we are able to use prescription only local anaesthetic creams.
Convenient: Unlike waxing, there is no need to let hair grow out between treatments. You can remain hair free all the time.

Who is a candidate for laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is used for people who want to remove unwanted body hair. Common treatment locations include legs, armpits, upper lip, chin and bikini line. Hair color is the key factor that influences the success of laser hair removal. Older technologies were used mostly on people with dark hair (brown or black) and light skin, newer devices can also be used on people with darker skin types. We see clients who have suffered years of humiliation and have had nowhere to turn to for help: GPs have no treatments at their disposal to offer and conventional hair removal treatments ultimately exacerbate the problem promoting more hair growth rather than less. For your convenience and savings, Advanced Medicetics offers both individual and package treatment options. Most patients need 6 treatments*, and, after evaluation, we can determine the best treatment plan at the most affordable prices for you.
*Pts with hormonal problems may require more treatments

How do you prepare for laser hair removal?
Before scheduling laser hair removal, you meet with your doctor to discuss the factors that determine whether the procedure is likely to work well for you. This meeting generally includes:
Your medical history. You will have a consultation with one of our doctors who will ask questions about conditions you have or have had, as well as any medications you're taking. It may be the case that the accelerated hair growth is actually due to a change in medication that can be easily improved by changing to an alternative drug.
Photographs.Photographs are taken from different angles of the area to be treated. Your doctor uses these photos for before-and-after assessments and long-term reviews.
A discussion of risks, benefits and expectations. You and your doctor talk about risks and benefits. He or she explains what laser hair removal can and can't do for you and what your results might be.
Essential information before your treatment
No tweezing, waxing or depilatory creams for at least three weeks prior to treatment. Shaving is okay; however, please do not shave for at least two days before you come to our office for treatment: we need to see where the hair is located.
Laser treatments are not effective for white, grey, red or very light blonde hairs. These types of hairs are not treatable with laser.
We do not treat pregnant women.
The day of your appointment, please do not apply any type of cream or lotion to the area which is going to be treated other than if we have supplied you with some anaesthetic cream This is best applied one hour before the procedure. We offer per treatment fees as well as package options with discounts on laser hair removal packages. Please contact us for more information.
I have read about lots of different lasers which one is best?
Intense Pulsed Light is almost certainly the most effective hair removal system on the market today. It is the only system available which can boast permanent hair reduction and has won FDA approval in the US in recognition of its safety. This procedure can be used on all parts of the body, including the chin, upper lip, cheeks, legs, arms, underarms and back - as well as sensitive areas such as the ears, nose, chest and bikini line.
Unlike laser which has a single wavelength of light, Intense Pulsed Light uses charges of pulsed white light. The advantage of this system compared to the laser system is that large areas can be treated relatively quickly and the pulse and filters can be changed and varied according to the skin-type and hair colour to increase efficiency and ensure maximum hair removal. Not only can each treatment be tailor-made to the client, but, where there are different hair colours and varying skin types on the same person, the settings can be adjusted during the treatment. With lasers, only dark hair on pale skin can be successfully treated.
For the "seasonal hair removers" this is a really effective, hassle-free treatment with long-term results. For those with excess hair "problems", Intense Pulsed Light is proving a miracle treatment for people who have hitherto had to suffer the embarrassment and humiliation of facial or body hair
Why don't all clinics use these technologies?
The newer technologies and the top companies that produce them such as Palomar large technology companies with enormous research behind them. However like most things that are "top quality" they are able to charge a premium and are usually the most expensive hence many clinics will opt to use less expensive alternatives. Our philosophy at Medicetics is to deliver an uncompromising standard of care and we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver premium treatments with the most up-to-date technology.
What is the benefit of the Palomar system?
Palomar pulsed light systems offer a lasting solution for unwanted hair.
Convenient: Unlike waxing, there is no need to let hair grow out between treatments. You can remain hair free all the time.
