Other hair removal methods, such as shaving, needle electrolysis or repeated waxing. all have drawbacks â€“ shaving, plucking and waxing are all temporary; needle epilation is only capable of treating one hair at a time.

How does I2PL treatment work ?

To achieve long lasting hair removal, it is necessary to destroy the hair follicle from which individual hairs grow. Well-controlled pulses of light penetrate the upper skin layer and are absorbed by melanin in the hair within the follicle.

Melanin converts the light energy into heat. This heat is transferred to the hair follicle, which is destroyed, without causing damage to the surrounding skin. The treatment is only effective on growing hairs as these are still attached to the follicle.

As the majority of our hair is in the resting phase at any one time, 3 to 6 treatments are usually required.
