Suffolk Clinic was established in 1982, initially as an Acupuncture clinic, by Roger Beresford. Acupuncture still has a major role at the clinic and Roger is now supported by Khojesta Qodrat, (who also specializes in Acupuncture for infertility; treatments supporting IVF; pregnancy care; and facial revitalization), and Eileen Gilmour, (who specializes in Acupuncture and its use with IVF).

Within a couple of years, Suffolk Clinic extended its services into the area of Sports Injuries/Rehabilitation; and, given Roger's soccer pedigree, not surprisingly, there was a particular emphasis on soccer players from junior clubs across Coventry and surrounding areas.

The Clinic evolved treating Rugby Union players, not only from junior clubs across the city, but also from some senior Midlands' clubs, namely: Nuneaton RFC, Rugby Lions FC and Coventry RFC. Lee Young, who is based at the clinic, currently heads the Injury Management Team at Nuneaton RFC and Roger, himself, is a Director of Rugby Lions FC.

Suffolk Clinic is one of the longest-established Sports Injury Clinics in the Coventry and Warwickshire area and it has worked alongside most of the junior soccer and rugby clubs in Coventry, providing effective injury management services and offering discounted schemes for the treatment of their sportsmen and women. More recently, the clinic has been providing its services and schemes to large, local running-clubs: Northbrook AC and Sphinx AC

In 1990, Ann Taplin joined Suffolk Clinic and introduced Vacuflex Reflexology and Reiki Healing, complementing the other services offered by the clinic. She has recently extended these to include Ear Irrigation and Hopi Ear Candling.
In 1999, Khojesta Qodrat added to the list of the services at the clinic by introducing Food Intolerance Testing using the Vega Expert.

In 2005, Chiropractic treatment was included in the services offered to its patients when Rosalind Beresford, Roger's daughter-in-law, joined the team at the clinic.
Another service was also introduced in 2005, when Anne Baker joined the clinic offering Homeopathic treatments.
As you can see, Suffolk Clinic probably provides the most comprehensive range of services within one location when compared to others throughout Coventry and Warwickshire. We, at the clinic, like to think that its multi-discipline approach offers quick and effective treatments in a very friendly clinical environment.
Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is designed to permanently remove unwanted body hair by using the light energy from a laser.

Unwanted hair is a common problem in women and men. Shaving, waxing, and tweezing only produce temporary results and can generally only be carried out on relatively small areas.

Laser hair removal treatment can be used to permanently treat, and remove, small and large areas of unwanted hair from the body.

Best results occur in those with light skin and dark hair, and hair removal works better on coarse hair rather than fine hair.

Excess body hair can be unsightly, difficult, or inconvenient to remove and grows back quickly. In extreme cases, it can be devastating to your self-esteem.
So, if YOU want to get rid of unwanted hair growth and have hair free, soft skin, the laser hair removal treatment is the answer.

At Suffolk Clinic we can provide laser hair removal treatments for both women and men and the treatments are effective for a wide variety of different hair and skin types and colour.

The most common areas for laser hair removal treatments in women are the face, neck, bikini line, underarms, nipples, tummy line, arms and legs. The most common areas in men are the face, neck, ears, back and chest.

There are many methods to remove unwanted hair. None are permanent, but laser hair removal is the most effective treatment available. Laser hair removal is the only clinically proven treatment for the removal of unwanted facial and body hair gently, quickly and effectively, with long-lasting results.

Suffolk Clinic can help you effectively remove unwanted hair using the most up-to-date technology, leaving you with smooth, hair free skin, which will, in turn, give you more self-confidence and allow you to wear the clothes you want.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs

Q. What is involved with Laser Hair Removal?
A. The area is shaved and cleaned, and an anaesthetic cream applied. The laser then produces pulsed beams of highly concentrated light which is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles, damaging the surrounding follicle.
The procedure can be uncomfortable, but it is not usually painful. The length of a laser session may be a few minutes to an hour, or more, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Any redness and swelling of the affected areas usually disappears in a short time. And most people return to normal activity right away.

Q. Are there any risks with Laser Hair Removal?
A. Laser hair removal is a safe procedure if carried out by an experienced Laser Technician.

Possible complications include -
darkening or lightening of the treated skin
burning/blistering of the treated skin
Since darker skin is more susceptible to changes in pigment, tanning before laser hair removal should be avoided.

Q. How many treatments will I need?
A. Most treatments require 2-3 sessions for permanent hair removal in any one area. The procedure can be repeated at monthly intervals.
